Nextblue ends, but the story continues
You’re receiving this email because you were subscribed to Nextblue. After a decade of sharing stories from communities on the frontlines of climate change, I’ve decided to bring Nextblue to a close. It has been an incredible journey, and I want to thank our talented team and, most importantly, you for being part of it.
Your support meant the world.
But this isn’t goodbye – it’s a new beginning!
I’m excited to announce the launch of my personal blog at joepjanssen.com, where I’ll continue to highlight stories of climate resilience. This space will allow me to explore these vital themes with a more personal voice, sharing insights from my work at the Watersnoodmuseum (Flood Museum), reflections on global water challenges, and stories from my travels.
What to expect
Though my focus remains on climate adaptation, water safety, and flood recovery, I’ll be approaching these topics from a more personal lens. In this new space, you’ll find my thoughts on water resilience around the world, inspiring stories of communities adapting to rising seas, and insights from journalists, experts, and youth tackling climate challenges. We’ll also explore how traditional knowledge and modern innovations combine to build a more resilient future.

On a personal note
My time in Vietnam showed me that the best climate solutions often come from the communities already facing these challenges. Through this newsletter, I hope to bring these stories closer to you, connecting past lessons with present innovation.
I’ll send updates when I have meaningful insights and stories to share. You can unsubscribe at any time, but I hope you’ll stay along for this new chapter.
