I am an architect with a special interest in delta cities. When I lived in Vietnam I experienced how water affects people's lives every day. I worked at a local architectural firm and wrote a book on climate change and urbanization in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
The relation between both issues - changing climate, changing cities - has become the centre of my work. Because I think we, the people, can change climate and cities in a positive direction. We can engage in the direction of our dream: dry feet and clean drinking water for all people of the world.
I have written the richly illustrated book Living with the Mekong that provides the reader with a good insight into urban developments in one of the world’s most threatened deltas related to climate change. You can order my book here (Dutch) or here (English).
